SHORT-TERM RECOMMENDATIONS:
• Implement a college policy requiring the replacement of current
college-owned or leased vehicles with alternative fuel vehicles
• Implement a fleet program (or other equivalent practice) with regard
to private vehicles used on college business (e.g., admissions trips)
• Utilize a publicity campaign and other means (e.g., giving out
pedometers to members of the Loras community) to encourage students to
walk the campus instead of driving
• Implement a car-pooling/ride-sharing program for students, faculty,
and staff
• Increase the number of bike racks on campus
• Implement an incentive program for students, faculty, and staff to
limit their vehicle use on campus (i.e., to encourage them to “park and
walk” as much as possible)
