Teammate, friend, daughter, and Duhawk. Audrey Fitzgerald was those things and more for nearly 20 years in her time among family and friends beginning March 31, 1988 in Independence, Iowa. On March 2, 2008 she entered into eternal life following a sudden death caused by bacterial meningitis. Audrey is survived by her parents, Pamela Jo (Conklin) Fitzgerald and Ed Fitzgerald, her maternal grandparents, Audrey and Charles Conklin, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

As a member of the volleyball team and an athletic training major at Loras she showed her teammates, coaches, classmates, and the Loras community what a positive person she was in only months on campus. Prior to arriving in Dubuque, she shared her personality at the University of Iowa for one academic year and in her hometown of Independence, Iowa many more. She was a three sport athlete in high school with the Independence Mustangs and a four-year All-Academic WaMac Conference honoree.

Audrey will be deeply missed by all of those she knew and loved.
