The Duhawks will send six individuals and one relay team to Ada, Ohio for the NCAA III Indoor Track & Field Championships on March 14-15. Ohio Northern University serves as the host institution for this year's championships.
WOMEN

The Duhawks will send two competitors in the weight throw. Leading the NCAA in the weight throw as the top qualifier is sophomore Liz Ulferts. Liz threw an NCAA III best 58'-1 1/4" on February 29th at the IIAC meet. Senior Ellen Thys qualified with a mark of 54'-11 1/2" at the Iowa Conference meet in Decorah, Iowa on February 29th as well.
Tara Kilburg will run the mile race after posting a 5:02.86 time at Friday's meet in Whitewater, Wisconsin.
MEN

On the men's side, last chance opportunities paid dividends for numerous Duhawks. Three school records were set over the weekend, including three performances which will send Loras to the championships.
Kyle Calvert improved his pole vault to 17'-3/4". He automatically qualifies at the third best height nationally this year.
Other record setting performances came from senior Nick McWilliams in the Weight Throw and the Distance Medley Relay team. McWilliams used Saturday's opportunity to throw a 57'-3 3/4" distance and place in the top ten nationally. The DMR team of Cody Dreyer, Nate Gee, Ben Grant, and Ray Orris posted a 10:01.77 on Saturday and are in with the sixth best time.
Grant, who finished fourth at the NCAA III Cross Country Championships this fall, will also run the mile. His season-best was the 4:12.32 on February 15th in Whitewater, Wisconsin.
