Distance Medley Relay 5th
Kilburg, Rieger, Weiss, Corken run record time

The Loras College women's track and field team set a school record on Friday in the Distance Medley Relay at the NCAA Division III Championships in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Tara Kilburg, Laura Rieger, Hannah Weiss, and Mary Bridget Corken posted a time of 11:51.44 in placing fifth in the country. The time was seven seconds better than the school's previous best time. The Duhawks entered the event as one of the lower seeded teams, and posted a faster time than half of the teams entered.

"These ladies ran a great race today," head coach Bob Schultz said Friday. "They took seven seconds off the school record and really worked hard to post that time. They deserve that place. They earned it, and I'm proud of them for showing so well here on the national scene.".

The meet continues tomorrow in Indiana. Among the participants are Loras' Chris Buresh, who will compete in both the High Jump and the Pole Vault.
