HEAD COACH KATIE KOOPMANN

Katie Koopmann begins her second season as the Head Softball Coach for the Duhawks in 2008. In her rookie campaign as the head coach, Loras qualified for their first IIAC Tournament, winning 19 games overall to go with the seven in Iowa Conference play. She also saw her first All-IIAC players honored. Stacy Bahl and Kate Earleywine were named to the team in 2007. Earleywine was the most notable contributor of Koopman's first recruiting class, setting the single-season record for strikeouts as a freshman.

A Loras assistant for three seasons, Koopman is in the midst of her first stint as head coach with her alma mater after helping engineer the beginning of a turnaround for Duhawk softball. During her three years as an assistant, Loras won 40 games, including the 2005 squad that finished with one of the top records in recent history, placing fourth in the Iowa Conference. In 2007, the Duhawks increased both their team fielding percentage and their pitching staff's ERA.

A native of Epworth, Iowa, Katie (Rasmusson) completed both her undergraduate and graduate degrees at Loras. She competed in both baseketball and softball while at Loras and was a member of the 2002-03 Iowa Conference Champion women's basketball team. In her senior season of softball, she batted .271 with two homers and 12 RBI. In the 2002 season, she was named first-team All-Iowa Conference when she batted .418 on the season.

Koopman resides in Epworth with her husban Keith. They are expecting their first child this summer.

ASSISTANT COACH TRACY DAVIS

Tracy is in her second season with the Duhwaks. Born and raised in Dubuque, Davis is a 2001 graduate of Hempstead High School. After her strong prep career with the Mustangs, Davis went on to the University of Northern Iowa where she was a four-year member of the Panthers' squad. During her career in Cedar Falls, the infielder was named to the All-MVC 2nd team in 2005 and was also named the league's Player of the Week once in her freshmen season.

Davis earned her degree in General Studies in 2005 from the University of Northern Iowa. As a member of the coaching staff at Loras, she works with the infielders. She plans to return to the classroom and begin working on a degree in School Counseling. Tracy resides in Dubuque.
