Two Duhawks named to All-Iowa Conference Team Jon Denham, Sports Information Director Dubuque, Iowa
The Loras College Softball team had two members of their squad named to the All-Iowa Conference Second Team roster. First baseman Stacy Bahl ('08, Balltown, IA) and pitcher Kate Earleywine ('10, Brodhead, WI) were each honored with the distinction in 2007.
Stacy Bahl led the team in batting average (.345), RBI (26), on base percentage (.391), and slugging percentage (.500). Bahl was also among the leaders in hitting (4th) during the IIAC season with a .452 average and was fifth in total hits.
Kate Earleywine ended the 2007 season, her first with the team, a part of two team records after just one season on the mound. The freshman tied the 24-year-old single-game strikeout record (12) in Game 1 of a doubleheader with Luther College on April 18th. She also shattered the single-season strikeout record by over 70 with 208 during the 2007 season. Earleywine led the Iowa Conference in K's (84 of 208 were in IIAC play). |
