Duhawks host annual invite, win team title Jon Denham, Sports Information Director September 15, 2007
The Loras College women's golf team won the team title at their Fall Invitational by seven strokes on Friday with an overall score of 351. Brooke Davis finished in second place (85) and turned in the low score for the Duhawks at a windy Lacoma Golf Club in East Dubuque, Illinois. Davis' teammates, including twin sister Brittany, all finished in the top 15. Brittany shot an 88, good for second among the Duhawks and eighth place overall. The 88 was actually the third best score for the Davis family on the day. The Davis family (Delmar, Iowa) trio was filled out by Jordan, an Ashford University freshman, who shot an 86 on the afternoon.
Stephanie Schwartz and Jackie Kieffer shot matching 89's for Loras, who won their second tournament of the week on Friday. Earlier in the week, the Duhawks won the six team Clarke Invitational by an impressive 22 strokes.
Loras will complete the two-day Illinois Wesleyan Fall Classic on Sunday for their third tournament this week. |
