Duhawks earn awards following 17-9 season Jon Denham, Sports Information Director March 5, 2008

Leading scorers Natalie Pucci and Lindsay Bava were named to the 2007-2008 All-Iowa Conference first team Wednesday. The 1-2 offensive punch combined for 31.3 points per game this season and over 100 3-pt. field goals.
Pucci, a senior from West Dundee, Illinois, completed her career with exactly 1,600 career points, good for third on Loras' all-time list. Other career numbers for Pucci include first in three-pointers made (237), third on the steals list (187), seventh in blocks (43), ninth in assists (199). She also claimed the career free throw percentage mark by .1% over 2003 graduate Amy Jones. Natalie finished at 79.1%. For her final year, she led the team in points per game, shots made, three-point field goals, and minutes.
Natalie was a four-time selection over her career with the Duhawks. As a frosh, she earned second team honors. In her final three seasons she was a member of the first team.
Bava, a sophomore from Downers Grove, Illinois, earned her first All-IIAC selection this season. Bava was another perimeter threat for the Duhawks throughout the season. Lindsay led the team in three-point percentage, free throw percentage, and defensive rebounding. She was also second in points per game, field goal percentage, and rebounding.
Loras finished the 2007-2008 season 17-9. The Duhawks were 9-7 in IIAC play, good for fourth place under rookie head coach Justin Heinzen. |
