Duhawks win again, Pucci scores 24 Jon Denham, Sports Information Director December 8, 2007
The Loras College women's basketball team won their eighth game of 2007 on Saturday afternoon 61-55 over host Beloit College. The Duhawks had a one point halftime lead after shooting just 31% in the first period. Their shooting improved in the second half (13-27) and the team 37 second half points in earning the victory.
Natalie Pucci scored 20+ points for the fourth time this season, scoring 24 points on 9-21 shooting from the field. Lisa Morrissey led the team in both rebounds (7) and assists (7). Lindsay Bava once again joined Pucci in double-digit scoring, dropping in 12 points, nine of which came from behind the three-point arc.
The Buccaneers were held to 4-19 from long distance and tied their season low for points with 55.
The Duhawks will have no games for ten days, returning to action against Ashford University on December 18. Tipoff is set for 5:30 PM in Clinton. |
