Doug Colin took over head coaching duties at Loras in 1998. He has worked with local swim clubs since 1987, and in 1991 became the founder and director of the Dubuque Area Swimmin' Hurricanes (DASH). Previous to his Loras appointment, Colin served as an assistant coach at Senior High School for five seasons.
The Dubuque native and Senior High graduate has turned around the program. He led the Duhawks to back-to-back National Liberal Arts team titles on the men's side in 2003 and 2004. The 2004 team also won the Iowa Conference title.
Colin holds a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Iowa. He and his wife, Marie, have three sons (Benjamin, John, and Will).
ASST. COACH TASHA LIPPOLD
Tasha (Splinter ’04) Lippold is a Loras College graduate and holds Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Marketing and Business Management. Tasha is currently the Loras College Admissions Marketing Manager. She was a diver at Hempstead High School in Dubuque, IA and went on to Loras College where she was also a diver. She has been the Wahlert High School diving coach for the past six seasons and has worked with the Loras divers since graduating in 2004.
Tasha resides in Dubuque with her husband Kyle, who also graduated from Loras and is currently the Assistant Men’s and Women’s Soccer Coach and Head Men’s Tennis Coach.
ASST. COACH CHRIS OBERHOFFER
Chris is entering his fourth year as Assistant Swim Coach. Before coaching at Loras Chris was the head coach of the Blackhawk County YMCA Masters Swim Team, and an Assistant Swim Coach at Senior High School. He was an All-American and State Champion Swimmer for Dubuque Senior High School in 1999. He is currently a science teacher at Dubuque Senior High School.
Chris has been married to his wife Holly for four years, and has a beautiful daughter Emma. In addition to his on deck duties Chris also assists with the recruiting of our future Duhawks. Chris has a Bachelor of Arts degree in science education from the University of Northern Iowa, and is currently working on his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership at Loras College.
ASST. COACH ANN FOUST
Ann has been a swim coach for 11 years. She was an Assistant Varsity Coach at Hempstead High School for 8 years where she focused on stroke technique, developed workouts, and created swim meet line-ups. Hempstead had a successful swim program which produced many state qualifiers and broke several school records. Ann has been a part of the Duhawks’ program for the past three seasons. She works on stroke technique and provides individual attention to each athlete. In addition to her coaching career, she is the mother of four swimmers, including one who graduated from the Loras College and was a four year member of the Duhawk swim team. All four children participated on the local club swim team, DASH, and three went on to become swim coaches.
