Lehenbauer named IIAC Swimmer of the Meet, sets records Jon Denham, Sports Information Director February 10, 2008

Loras College junior Lauren Lehenbauer was named the Swimmer of the Meet following last week's Iowa Conference swimming and diving meet in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The Davenport, Iowa native won three events. She claimed victory in the 200 yard butterfly, 400 yard individual medley, and the 1650 yard freestyle. Kenzie Murray also won the 100 and 200 yard breaststroke races.
Lehenbauer has been named the Swimmer of the Week eight times in her three seasons with the Duhawks. Once in each of those seasons she has also been the Iowa Conference's overall Female Athlete of the Week.
Lauren also swam legs on three different runner up relays (400 free, 800 free, and 400 medley). Her efforts in the 1650 freestyle also catapulted her into the records books. Her 1,650 time of 17:54.83 broke both the IIAC meet record and the Loras College record in that event. As a part of that race, she also set the 1,000 yard school record with an intermediate split time.
The swim teams will participate in the Liberal Arts Championships at Principia College in Elsah, Illinois from February 21-23.
