Grapplers open eyes in Williamsport

The Loras College Wrestling Team earned two upset victories against top-5 opponents yesterday at the Bud Whitehill Duals in Williamsport, PA. Trevor Kaufman (285 lbs.) won both of his matches to secure two comeback wins over #4 York College and #5 Rhode Island College.

Jay Figgins pinned York’s Brian Adams in 1:41 and Rhode Island’s Nick Logan in 1:27 for Loras’ only two pins on the day. Jordan Loy, Erik Hanson, and Brandon Bauer went two-for-two in their matches as well. It was Loras’ first two wins over ranked opponents and will face top seeded Cortland in the semifinals today.
