Loras Purple team wins Fall Invite Jon Denham, Sports Information Director September 5, 2007
The Loras College men's golf team won their first event of 2007 on Tueday afternoon. The Duhawks hosted their annual fall invitational at The Meadows GC in Asbury, Iowa and won the team title with their top scorers. Mark Dolphin led the way for Loras, shooting a 73 and winning a playoff to claim first in the individual standings. He was followed in the winning group by Noel Frideres (76), John Kelly (79), Eric Drane (81), and Jeremy Walsh (86). The team finished ten strokes better than second place Mt. Mercy College.
The Loras Gold group took third place in the team standings. That lineup included Andy Bischoff, Brad Kemp, Steve Stark, Jeff Wuestenfeld, and Eric Cagley.
