| Slater in the club, Duhawks roll Jon Denham, Sports Information Director February 10, 2008
Loras College senior Luke Slater joined the 1,000 point club on Saturday afternoon with an old-fashioned three point play late in the Duhawks' win over the Wartburg College Knights in the Athletics & Wellness Center. After battling foul trouble and being limited to 24 minutes, the McHenry, Illinois native scored his final four points in a 36-second span with three minutes remaining in the game. The 83-68 win was the 11th in the IIAC this season, and 17th overall.
Kyle White led all scorers with 22 points in the game, including eight of nine free throws. Four Duhawks had three assists or more in the win. Both teams shot over 50% for the game, but the Duhawks made 10 three pointers and won the rebounding battle 34-19.
The win was the seventh in a row for the Duhawks, who remain one game behind Buena Vista in the IIAC standings. Loras will host Luther College on Saturday, February 16th at 4:00 PM. It will be senior day, and the team will honor this year's class prior to tipoff.
