| White wins second IIAC MVP, All-IIAC teams announced Jon Denham, Sports Information Director March 5, 2008

Loras College senior Kyle White was named the IIAC's Men's Basketball Most Valuable Player in a release from the Iowa Conference on Wednesday. White also won the award as a junior last season. He is the eighth players to win the award twice, and first to do so in back-to-back seasons since Dave Crawford of Dubuque in the 1990-1991 seasons.
Kyle, a native of Antioch, Illinois, led the league in scoring during the 16 league games (17.9 PPG) and was second in rebounding (8.5 RPG). In all games, White averaged 16.6 points per game.
Other All-IIAC performers during the 2007-2008 season were Luke Slater (1st team), Ricky Kolze (2nd team), and Brian Centella (2nd team). Slater, a senior, was also a first team selection a year ago. Kolze repeats as a member of the second team, and Centella earns his first honors in 2008.
Loras finished the regular season in second place in the IIAC at 13-3. The Duhawks won the IIAC Tournament on March 1, 77-69 over #1 seed Buena Vista, to claim the automatic bid to the NCAA III Tournament. They will travel to Whitewater, Wisconsin, this Friday to play the host Warhawks at 8:00 PM in the opening round.
