Carl Tebon has been the Loras head baseball coach since 1996. The 2008 season will be his 13th year at Loras and 16th year overall. Tebon has led the Duhawks to finishes among the top four in the Iowa Conference six times. The 2007 squad won 13 games in the league and finished third at the conclusion of the regular season. He has also coached two All-Americans, 10 all-region picks, and 31 All-IIAC players, including league MVPs Justin Pierro (1998) and Cory Schultz (2002).
The Sturgeon Bay, Wis. native is a 1989 graduate of Mount Scenario College where he was a two-time all-conference selection and MVP in baseball, while also starring in football. He earned his master's degree in Education/sports management from Old Dominion University in 1992.
Prior to coming to the Duhawks, Tebon served three seasons as the head coach at UW-River Falls, compiling a 56-38 record. He was also an assistant baseball coach at Virginia Wesleyan from 1982-92.
Tebon and his wife, Brenda, reside in Dubuque and have three daughters, Erica, Elly, and Rachel.

ASSISTANT COACH DAN WELLIK
Dan joins the Loras College baseball staff as the pitching coach for the Duhawks. Dan began his playing career at Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville, Iowa where he was a two year member of the Lakers squad. Wellik moved on to Waldorf College in Forest City, Iowa for the 2004-2005 Warrior seasons and graduated with a degree in Secondary Education. He spent the 2006 season in the dugout as a member of the Warriors coaching staff and was also the Head Coach at Clear Lake High School over the summer.
He and his wife Tracee, reside in Dubuque.
ASSISTANT COACH KORY TUESCHER
Kory is entering his fifth season as a part time assistant coach since graduating from Loras in 2003. The Darlington, Wisconsin native was a physical education major and also minored in health. Kory’s full time position is with Prescott Elementary School in Dubuque where he teaches physical education.
Kory’s coaching career includes time with the Wahlert High School squad, where he has been the assistant to the varsity team and also contributed to the basketball program. He was also the head coach for the Darlington (WI) Redbirds in 2003 and 2004.
Kory’s four-year playing career included two seasons as a starting infielder with the Duhawks. He was a captain of the team in his senior season and was also an Academic All-IIAC selection.
Tuescher resides in Dubuque.
ASSISTANT COACH JAY WILLIAMS Jay joins the Duhawk coaching staff this year as the Loras outfielders coach. Originally from Cobden, Illinois, Jay has spent the last two years coaching football and baseball at Wahlert High School. Coach Williams played his college baseball at Shawnee CC and Southeast Missouri State. He and his wife Dawn live in Dubuque with their two year old daughter, Ryan. |
