ACCOMPLISHMENTS/HONORS:
- A standout player on the Duhawk baseball and football teams of the 1950s, Schneider played three seasons at Loras before leaving the team to attend medical school.
- As a hard-hitting first baseman for the Loras baseball tema, he helped power the Duhawks to the Iowa Conference Northern Division title in 1952, hitting .304 with eight runs batted in.
- He concluded his baseball career with a .331 average including a blistering .487 (19-for-39) in 1954.
- On the gridiron, Schneider helped the Duahwks collect the Bell Trophy for a third straight year in a 14-13 victory over arch-rival St. Ambrose.
- While at Loras, he served as president of the sophomore class and was named to the Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities.
