DUBUQUE, Iowa -- The two biggest team names in NCAA Division III wrestling did not disappoint in session one of the 2004 NCAA III National Wrestling Championships at the Five Flags Center.  Augsburg and Wartburg sit in first and second place, respectively at the first intermission Friday.
 
Augsburg tallied 18.5 points and moved seven on its nine qualifiers ahead in the championship bracket.  Wartburg kept nine of its capacity 10 qualifiers alive in the winner's bracket, compiling 17.0 points.  Luther (12.0 points), College of New Jersey (11.0), and Delaware Valley (8.0) round out the top five in the team standings.
 
125 lbs. - Loras' Terry Morgan scored the only first-round upset, knocking off the #4 seed Matt Vos from St. John's (Minn.), 3-2.  The other seven seeded wrestlers moved into tonight's quarterfinals.
 
133 lbs. - Brian Boland from Ursinus scored the bracket's only upset defeating the #6 seed Nick Morphew of Lawrence, 5-4.  The other seven seeded wrestlers moved into tonight's quarterfinals.
 
141 - All eight top seeds moved into the quarterfinals.
 
149 - Four unseeded wrestlers scored upsets.  Rory Tobias of Oneonta State defeated #8 Dusty Dahlblom of Augsburg, 4-3.  Ryan Hlinak of Chicago defeated Jim Morgan of King's, 7-4.  David Icenhower of College of New Jersey defeated #6 Tony Patrizi of Heidelberg.  Jason Roush of Mount St. Joseph defeated #3 Troy Fabry of UW-LaCrosse, 14-7.
 
157 - All eight top seeds moved into the quarterfinals.
 
165 - John Carroll's Ryan Ficco scored the only upset over #7 Frank Petrucci of Oswego State, 5-3.
 
174 - Nick Patenaude of UW-LaCrosse scored the only upset, a 5-2 decision over Paul Vaccaro of TCNJ.
 
184 - Augustana's (Ill.) Pat Healy pinned #3 Jason Lulloff of UW-LaCrosse in 2:12.  Ben Dictus of Lawrence defeated #8 Mike Troutman of Ursinus, 4-3.  All six other seeds moved forward to the quarterfinals.
 
197 - Luther's Wyatt Ryerson pinned #4 Todd Carone of Montclair State in 1:22, and Tom Medonis of Springfield (Mass.) defeated Simpson's #7 Bart George, 2-1.
 
285 - Nick McTee from Coe notched the only upset over #8 Tommy Snyder of Lycoming, 7-6.
