The purpose of this page is to let visitors to our web site find more information about the software our students use.

SolidWorks is state-of-the-art solid modeling (CAD) software.

Algor functions within SolidWorks and allows for kinematic analyses and finite element analyses (both stress and thermal FEA).

Modellus is used for physical modeling and performs numerical time integration of the equations of motion.  There is also an email link to the College of Sciences and Technology (FCT) of the New University of Lisbon (UNL) in Portugal, which sells the software.

MATLAB (made by MathWorks) is used for engineering computations.  An add-in toolkit named Simulink is used for simulating dynamic systems and associated control systems.

Logger Pro software and Labpro hardware from Vernier Software are also used extensively in the department for physical data collection and analysis.
