Academic Awards in Economics There are two scholarships available only for economics majors that are awarded on an annual basis. These are the Om Batish Scholarship in Economics and the Reverend Edmund Kurth Memorial Scholarships in Economics. The former is an award of about $1050.00. The latter, established as two distinct scholarships are $850.00 each. Recipients must be of junior or senior status and carry a 3.0 GPA or better to be eligible for either. During the period of Fall, 1990 through Spring, 1995 these scholarships have been awarded to 15 deserving economics majors. In addition, economics majors are eligible for the Professor Francis Noonan Scholarship in Accounting, Business, and Economics.
