2008 LORAS COLLEGE Summer Shooting Camp

June 23 - 26 2008 Registraion is currently closed
Loras College Summer Shooting Camp teaches the camper to perfect their shot through intense, repetitive drills that lock the necessary shooting technique into the camper's muscle memory. This will enable the athlete to execute proper fundamentally-sound shooting mechanics.  We will break down each campers shot into several stages thus making sure the shooter fully understands and learns each step. This process is a lot of hard work with great attention to detail, that will produce terrific results. If you are willing to do the work, then the Summer Shooting Camp will dramatically improve your shooting percentages.

The camp dates TBA, and will be held in the Loras College Athletics and Wellness Center (cox street). The cost for the camp in 2008 was $80 and included a t-shirt.

  • Boys ages 9 through 12 will be from 9:00am - 11:00am.
  • Boys ages 13 through 17 will be from 11:30am - 2:00pm.

Coach GortonGreg Gorton, Men's Head Basketball Coach at Loras College with 15-years of college coaching experience, combines his talents, strengths and experiences in developing a comprehensive camp. Last year the Duhawks had a record of 22-7 which included the second straight trip to the NCAA tournament. Coach Gorton has coached multiple All-Americans.“To be a great offensive player you must be able to make shots.  This camp will give you all the skills required to take that next step as a player.”

-- Greg Gorton, Men’s Head Basketball Coach

Our instructors will work with each camper individually to enhance their personal experience.  A portion of each day will be for playing in live situations. We will start with the basics and move up to shooting off screens, shooting on the move, and shooting contested shots.
