Traditional Housing Options The traditional residence halls are designed to provide a focus on community, getting to know a variety of people and developing friendships. There are established standards in place for cooperative living and a supportive learning environment.
A coed traditional residence hall at Loras College located on lower campus. Beckman has a rich heritage including the “Morgue” study lounge, Beckman fitness room, movie nights, academic incentive programs such as “Study Bucks” and the house system on each floor which fosters a harmonious community atmosphere. Beckman Hall consists of primarily first year male and female students, within double occupancy rooms. Each floor has at least one Resident Advisor assigned to help out with the needs to residents. The Resident Advisor is an upper-class student trained to build and foster a community on the floor and in the building. Accommodations:
Binz Hall Another coed traditional residence hall is also located on the lower campus. Binz hosts events such as craft nights, flag football, and movie’n munch nights as well as offering “Study Bucks”. Binz Hall consists of primarily second year male and female students, within two double rooms that share a private bath between that is shared by four students. Each floor has at least one Resident Advisor assigned to help out with the needs of residents. Another coed traditional residence hall on campus. It overlooks the Rock Bowl Stadium and is next door to the Graber Sports Center and the San Jose Pool. Rohlman Hall also houses the Rohlman Interfaith Chapel where students are able to attend services, meditate or play the piano. This residence hall provides the opportunity to become actively involved in Hall Council that hosts its annual Hall Olympics, decorating contest, Ms./Mr. Rohlman Pageant, Penny War$ and more! Rohlman Hall consists of primarily first year residents, within single and double occupancy rooms. Each floor has one Resident Advisor assigned to help out with the needs of residents. A unique residence hall located on upper campus a few blocks away from Keane Hall. The Visitation is made up of two buildings, South and North. The North Building houses males, while the South Building houses females and is also home to the Art and Music Departments. The “Vis” has a unique set-up as it is mostly single rooms, with the exception of a few double and triple rooms. There is also a 7-person apartment located in the basement of the South Building. Another interesting aspect is that a very diverse population lives in the Visitation, first-years, transfers and upperclassmen. Each of the buildings has two resident advisors assigned to help out with the needs of the residents.
