7:00 p.m. “Imaging the Sky” Heitkamp Planetarium How did astronomers first get images of the sky? How have methods evolved since then? This show will explore the exciting history of capturing informative and breathtaking images of the night sky. Admission is free; no ticket or reservation required.
7:00 p.m. Midwest Dueling Pianos Alumni Campus Center Ballroom Midwest Dueling Pianos has quickly become one of the most sought after Dueling Piano production companies in the country. You may have seen the widely popular Dueling Pianos concept performed while on vacation or a night out in the city. Now you can experience that level of excitement, hilarity, musicianship and raw fun with a show that is specifically tailored for the Loras College environment. This interactive musical comedy experience will have you singing, shouting, dancing and laughing. Admission is free; no ticket or reservation required.

9:00 a.m. Parent Council Meeting Alumni Campus Center Ballroom CD The Parent Council Meeting is for all parents interested in being members of the Parent Council. The purpose of the Loras College Parent Council is to promote continued parental involvement to encourage the successful completion of our students’ challenging and meaningful Loras College journey. We will do this by sharing our common concerns, communicating with and supporting each other, and striving for a greater understanding of the traditions and mission of Loras College. The Parent Council meets annually during Family Weekend.
10:00 a.m. Parent Information Session Mary Alexis Room, Alumni Campus Center Members of the Loras College administrative team will be present to provide a campus update as well as answer any questions you may have. We encourage parents to attend this informative session.
11:00 a.m. Family Weekend Tailgate Smyth Turnaround (between Smyth Hall and the Alumni Campus Center) Enjoy outdoor lunch, free snacks, activities, inflatables, live music and chances to win Loras College prizes with your fellow Duhawk family members. Lunch can be purchased at the tailgate as follows: adults $6.75, children age 10 and under $5.00, students $6.75 or a meal swipe.
1:00 p.m. Loras vs. Wartburg Football Game - Rock Bowl Stadium Support your Duhawk football team as they take on Wartburg College! Cost: $6.00 per adult; $5.00 age 55 and over; $3.00 for students (kindergarten through college); age five and under is free; Loras faculty, staff and students free with Loras ID.

7:00 p.m. Dessert Pops Alumni Campus Center Ballroom Loras Choirs present their annual fundraising event – the Dessert Pops Concert. Proceeds from this concert make it possible for our students to continue to provide Loras College and the Greater Dubuque Community with high quality concerts and assist the students in touring. Come for an entertaining evening featuring our students performing selections from Musical Theatre and the Great American Songbook while you enjoy dessert. Reservations and payment required by October 24. This event is well attended, so advance reservations are encouraged. No refunds will be issued for this fundraising event. Reservations will be held under your name at the door – there are no tickets for this event. Members of the Loras Chamber Singers and Bella Voce will assist leading great music for this special celebration of family! Included will be a special blessing for families. We will honor the Parent/Guardian of the Year as well as present the Father Naumann Award. The Father Naumann Award is presented to a faculty or staff member that has provided exemplary service to students. Brunch will be served following the Campus Liturgy. • Reservations and payment required by October 24. Please register early as this event will sell out. • Brunch tickets must be picked up by your student in the Student Life Office during regular office hours – you will receive an email confirmation that your tickets are available. • Seating is on a first come, first served basis. No reservations accepted at the door. • We regret we are unable to refund payments after October 31.
