Lead 4 Dedicating
Tier 4 'Lead 4 Dedicating' focuses on promoting social change. Participants will utilize the skills and knowledge they have gained in previous tiers and select a cause to focus on throughout the semester. Once the cause is determined, participants will explore key issues surrounding the program or service to gain a complete understanding of it. Furthermore, participants will develop an action plan that positively impacts the program or service. Participants will discover the importance of social change and gain an appreciation for civic responsibility.
Activities in Tier 4 include:
• Exploring personal values and determining a commitment to a specific cause.
• Researching a social issue of interest and educating other students about the issue
• Developing an action plan to improve a self-selected issue and/or cause.
• Reflecting and presenting on experience
LEAD 4 Loras is based upon the Social Change Model of Leadership, and is focused on enhancing consciousness of self, congruence, commitment, collaboration, common purpose, controversy with civility, and citizenship.
