Institutional Research
Institutional research consists of a collection of activities designed and implemented to support the information needs of the college. These needs are the result of external demands and mandates from a variety of sources, and internal pressures to make decisions based on some type of rational criteria. The mission of the institutional research program at Loras College is twofold: first, to synthesize the mass of data generated in the academic and operational activities of the college and from that generate usable information; and second, to guide the development of information systems across the college by acting as the repository for definitions and reporting standards that allow for clear communication between departments.
The goals of the Office of Institutional Research are.....
.....to provide information and analysis that is relevant and responsive to the needs of policy and decision-makers of the college
.....to encourage the use of institutional research resources by maintaining a service orientation to the college community
.....to provide information and analysis that is accepted as accurate and reliable
.....to develop a resource archive to support future institutional re-accreditation and self-study efforts
