LORAS COLLEGE FOCUS
To know Christ Jesus and to fulfill His Great Commission by first living and then communicating the fullness of life within the family of God, the Church.

Who we are:
Founded by Curtis Martin in 1998, FOCUS (Fellowship of Catholic University Students) reaches out to college students on campus across the United States to help develop their relationship with Jesus Christ and understand His Catholic Church. FOCUS campuses are lead by a team of (usually) four missionaries. We grow exponentially through a mentoring program called Discipleship. It is an opportunity to invest in students and teach them how to build up their peers in their relationship with Christ.

BIBLE STUDIES
We have 20 some weekly Bible Studies lead by lay missionaries and student disciples. Every week students meet to learn more about their relationship with Christ and His Church through scripture, while forming strong Christian friendships.  There are various times, locations, and materials offered throughout the week. Men study with men and women with women.  Some topics: Scriptural Apologetics, Virtue, Christian Leadership, Salvation History, and Evangelization.                    

MEN'S and WOMEN'S NIGHT
Once a month men and women have the opportunity for a 1 hour event of prayer, fellowship, and vision of what it means to be a true Man or Woman in Christ.  (Usually 30 in attendance for each gender). 

DISCIPLESHIP
Of 18-25 Year Old Catholics, only 15% go to Weekly Mass. The late Pope John Paul II recognized this trend and has called the Church to a “New Evangelization.”  FOCUS believes that the most effective way to spread the Gospel is through personal relationships and investment.  FOCUS missionaries invite students into our mentoring program where we encourage them to grow in prayer, sacramental life, virtue, and evangelization. We train students to be leaders so they can take the faith out to their peers.

Large Group Events
Once a semester FOCUS books a dynamic, guest speaker to talk about our absolute need for Jesus Christ. It is much more than just a lecture in that we provide Live Music, Student Testimony, skits, video, food, give away prizes, and an opportunity to meet new people!
